A Guide About Why Your GHD Stopped Working

GHD stopped working and won’t turn on? They can be fixed. This can be caused by a number of things. If you send them for us to repair we will fully test every component for safe and reliable use in the future and replace the components that have failed. Sometimes if the ghds are dead there may be more than one part to replace, this isn’t a problem and we will never charge extra for it.

The loss of power may be a complete failure of the power cable and its internal connector. This may have shown problems for a while and finally given up. Please see our power cable problems page for more information.

No power to your ghds could also mean the thermal fuse has blown inside. This is designed to blow when ghds overheat. They can blow prematurely for no reason other than prolonged use. However it could have blown due to a component failure on the chipboard that requires a full chip board replacement. It could also be the sign of a faulty thermostat that reads the temperature of the plates. In all cases we will replace all parts required at no extra cost.

If your ghds won’t turn on it may also be a resistor on the circuit board that has blown. A very common fault on this model and again can be diagnosed and repaired by using our service.

These are the most common causes of ghds dying. Sometimes it can be something else but hardly ever. Whatever the ghd problem we can find it and repair it.
